Two BSF men were killed on Jammu-Srinagar highway yesterday in the terror attack suspected to have originated from Pakistan. One of the two attackers was killed while another, Mohammed Naved, was captured.
During interrogation, Naved admitted to be a Pakistan national and reportedly informed security officials he had stayed on Indian soil for more than 12 days before being caught.
"How is it possible that intruders live for more than 12 days on the soil of India without getting identified? This shows that there is serious lapse on part of intelligence and security in the sensitive border area, which is a matter of grave concern.
Reddy said it is pertinent to note the incident has taken place nine days after Gurudaspur terror strike and added it needs to be probed if same group was behind both the attacks.
He also praised the "heroic deed" of two civilians who captured Naved before handing him over to security personnel.
They should be rewarded properly, Reddy said.
The communist leader condoled families of the jawans killed during the attack.
The incident, he said, has exposed before the world role of Pakistan which should explain its stand.
