CPI-M demands clarity in Antony's statement
"Several questions have been raised following the statement made by the Defence minister. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Defence Minister should clarify what happened and what is the reality," CPI-M Politburo member Brinda Karat told reporters here.
Slamming Pakistan for the condemnable incident, Brinda said, "It is the responsibility of the Central government to maintain security along the Line of Control."
She was reacting on the opposition's attack on Antony's statement.
The Congress has already defended Antony saying his statement did not mean giving a clean chit to the neighbouring country and asked the BJP not to "politicise" the emotive issue for "electoral gains".
