Ramakrishnan called on Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa at Kodanadu in neighbouring Nilgiris District and raised the matter.
Jayalalithaa told him that she would consider the matter, he told reporters here.
The AIADMK and its allies can win five of the six Rajya Sabha seats that are falling vacant and elections for which is being held next month. In the last Rajya Sabha polls, AIADMK had backed CPI.
On the alliance for the coming Lok Sabha elections, Ramakrishnan said that the party would be part of a Non-Congress, Non-BJP alliance and wanted AIADMK and Forward Block and Left parties to work together.
He ruled out any truck with DMK stating that the party was part of the UPA Government for the last 10 years and supported all its policies.
