Pawan (35) was dancing in a relative's marriage in Ghonda area yesterday when another invitee Sitaram took out his licenced rifle for celebratory firing, they said.
"As people tried to prevent him from firing in the party, a scuffle broke out. In the midst of the scuffle, a bullet was shot which hit Pawan, killing him on the spot," said a police official.
The matter was immediately reported to the police. However, Sitaram, who hails from Agra, fled the scene with the rifle.
Pawan, who is survived by his wife and two children, lived in Karawal area.
