CPI(M) will discuss its strategy for the 2016 assembly elections in West Bengal next month after the party plenum ends on December 31.
"We shall discuss electoral strategy next month only after the party plenum is over. Nothing has been discussed yet," party state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra today said.
However, the campaign by the CPI(M) would project the ruling Trinamool Congress' failure to contain lawlessness, attack on opposition parties, attack on women and ever-growing number of cases of dengue, malaria, child deaths and deaths in tea gardens, he said.
"Our slogans are 'TMC Hatao Bangla Bachao' (Drive away TMC to save Bengal) and 'BJP Hatao Desh Bachao' (Drive away BJP to save the country)," he said.
"The party (CPI-M) is also intensifying its agitation down to the booth level against lawlessness and reign of terror unleashed by ruling TMC," he said.
The Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly did not reply to questions on whether CPI-M was likely to have any electoral alliance with the Congress during the polls.
Referring to the alleged attack on secularism in the country, the CPI-M Politburo leader said, "It is our duty to unite all secular and democratic minded people to fight such a threat."
Meanwhile, CPI-M has undertaken state-wide massive agitation and demonstration to consolidate its strength ahead of the Plenum from December 27 to December 31.
In a bid to garner support for its December 27 rally at the Brigade grounds here, the CPI(M) has planned to take out five padayatras across the city tomorrow protesting against alleged deteriorating law and order and anarchy in Bengal, Mishra said.
The December 27 rally in the city would mark the beginning of CPI(M) Plenum which would continue till December 31. Over ten lakh party workers and supporters would assemble at the Brigade on December 27.
"Around 456 representatives are coming from various states to participate in the Plenum," he added.
