"We have asked our party workers to strengthen movement against terror tactics by ruling TMC ahead of the municipal election next month and Assembly election early next year," CPI(M) state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra said after the concluding session of the party's state committee meeting.
Claiming that democracy and law and order in the state were at stake, he said the party workers also have been asked to remain alert against any sort of terror by the ruling party ahead of the municipal poll next month.
Speaking about the party's campaign for the upcoming municipal poll, Mishra said steps were being taken to strengthen booth-level communication by utilising maximum number of party workers.
The CPI(M) Politburo leader have also made an appeal to people maintain peace and communal harmony in the state.
He said the party workers should continue with its movement against anti-people economic policies of the Centre.
"The movement like march to the state secretariat Nabanna will continue till the Assembly election early next year. A Brigade Ground rally is also scheduled to take place on December 27," Mishra said.
Speaking about peace in the hills, Mishra said, "We are also for peace in Darjeeling keeping intact the unity of the state. The TMC government has failed to resolve the Darjeeling issue permanently."
Mishra also strongly criticised the Mamata Banerjee-led government for the alleged primary Teachers Eligibility Test scam.
