Reacting on the PM's attack against his party, CPI(M) Politburo member Md Salim today said people in the state would reject Modi and his party BJP, as a vote for BJP would be a vote for the TMC.
"People will not waste a vote by casting in favour of the BJP. They will reject Modi and his party, as a vote to them means helping TMC stay in power," Salim said in a series of tweets.
"Modiji aap gareebi nahi, gareeb ko mar rahe ho. (Modi you are not killing poverty, but the poor) Farmers suicide continue unabated, tea garden workers are dying of starvation and middle class is in duress," he alleged.
Criticising the PM, who was campaigning in the state today, Salim said "Modi lies like Mamata. He says as BJP is not in majority in the Rajya Sabha, Narada sting operation matters were not sent to the Ethics Committee there. Left brought the matter on the floor.... Modi has to answer why there was no suo motu cognisance on the Narada tapes and why no CBI investigation was ordered? Why there is a slowdown in the Saradha probe?"
"Why did the Centre not take any action on the Saradha- Narada issues? He forgets to take action after a two hour flight to Delhi" the CPI(M) leader regretted.
