Based on the information, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad Police apprehended law student Uday and Kranthi Kumar from here and recovered one laptop, a debit card and credit card writer from their possession.
"Uday learnt how to clone such cards and got the hacked data of credit and debit cards of different account holders through various internet sites.
Thereafter, he wrote the same data on magnetic strip on a blank plain card through the program card writer and specially-prepared software for cloning," SOT Officer on Special Duty K Goverdhan Reddy said.
Kranthi Kumar helped Uday in scratching the programmed cards and benefited up to Rs five lakh, the senior police officer said.
