Crime branch sleuths begin probe into OOA fraud

State crime branch today began a probe into the alleged illegal and fraudulent activities of Odisha Olympic Association (OOA), on the direction of the Orissa High Court.
Expressing displeasure over the alleged illegal and fraudulent activities in OOA, the High Court last week had directed the crime branch police to investigate into the allegations and submit a report within three months.
Sources said a team of sleuths under the supervision of a DSP examined the papers seized from the OOA by the Cuttack Sadar tehsildar, who on Sunday had taken possession of an encroached land and properties on it adjacent to Barabati Stadium.

The OOA was illegally occupying this land for last 30 years and ran business establishments on it, including a sprawling marriage mandap called 'Barabati Palace'.
