People were dying due to consumption of hooch whose trade continue to flourish under the NDA rule in the state, Paswan alleged while addressing his "Bihar Bachao" campaign here.
Hooch related death continue in different parts of the state and the claim of Nitish Kumar government to demolish the network of illegal liquor trade was proving "hollow", he said.
He also criticised the state government for rise in crime against women and weaker sections.
The LJP chief said corruption was at its peak in the state and no work could be done without bribe.
Paswan, whose party is in alliance with RJD of Lalu Prasad, claimed that there was an undercurrent of discontentment against the JD(U)-BJP coalition in Bihar which would be manifested in the next assembly elections.
