Notorious criminal Ravinder Bholu wanted by Delhi Police is believed to have committed suicide in Punjab after he escaped there to apparently save himself from an ongoing gangwar with a rival gangster.
A dreaded sharp shooter and gangster Gopal Gehlot Pale, an associate of Bholu, who was arrested by Special Cell from Anaj Mandi in Najafgarh area on May 25 claimed this during an investigation, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, DCP (Special Cell) said.
Pale said that following a brutal murder of four men including brother of his rival Navin Khati, Bholu and he had been hiding at Raja Shanshi Colony in Amritsar along with their other associates, the officer said.
Meanwhile, Khati gang allegedly killed Pale's father Rohtash and the news depressed Bholu so much that he committed suicide by hanging himself, Pale told his interrogators.
Pale performed funeral of Bholu claiming he died due to heart attack and that he was his real brother Narender, the officer said, adding, his claims are being verified.
Bholu, Pale and their associates had shot dead four youth including Navin Khati's brother Manish and later burnt them in their car near Issarehedi village in Bahadurgarh in neighbouring Haryana on December 31 in 2014.
