"The state is well on the course of becoming an industrial giant and the cycle valley would make Punjab the biggest hub of cycle manufacturing. It would provide employment to 20,000 youths," he said here.
The cycle valley will be spread over 400 acres and will be built at a cost of Rs 400 crore. It will have an exhibition-cum-convention centre.
The cycle valley will provide developed plots equipped with modern amenities to investors at affordable prices and will have facilities like banks, medical institutions, recreational centres and schools, he said.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated a high-level bridge over the Satluj River here and also promised BC status for the Rajput community.
Badal announced Rs 7 crore grant for development projects in Sahnewal constituency, a 400 KV power station in Dhanansu, and a college here.
"Rs 35,000 crore would be spent in the next five years to provide facilities such as sewerage and concrete streets in more than 12,000 villages and gas connections would be soon provided to households of poor in Punjab," he said.
"The people of Punjab will never vote for Congress that has attacked holy Sikh shrines and massacred innocents in 1984 (Sikh riots). It cannot list a single developmental project from it's tenure," he said.
Attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his announcement on appointing a Dalit deputy chief minister if the party formed government in Punjab, Badal said, "If Kejriwal is so serious about appointing a Dalit deputy chief minister then he should first do it in Delhi"
