Grammy-winning R&B singer D'Angelo is planning to release new music soon.

According to Billboard, the revelation was made by Carine Bijlsma, director of upcoming documentary, "Devil's Pie: D'Angelo".

"He's actually doing really well, and he's very excited. He was in the studio these past weeks. He has big plans for the future, so you'll definitely be seeing more of him," Bijlsma said.

"Devil's Pie" delves into the long break D'Angelo took between his albums 'Voodoo' and 'Black Messiah', and also focuses on his personal matters such as a terrible car crash, three rehab stays and the deaths of loved ones, that deeply affected him during that time.

D'Angelo, whose real name is Michael Eugene Archer, is one of the biggest names associated with the neo soul movement.

"Devil's Pie" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday night.
