Pahalwan today joined BSP in a function at the party office here and was appointed its state coordinator by the party supremo Mayawati.
Pahalwan, who was a minister in the erstwhile RJD government, joined BSP in the presence of Uttar Pradesh MLC Tilak Singh Ahirwar, who said he was given ticket to contest the next Lok Sabha polls from Buxur seat.
He had met Mayawati in Lucknow on June 25, the BSP leader said.
Pahalwan, who was associated with the SP and JD(S) in the recent past, had hogged the national limelight by hiring a private helicopter by paying a rent of Rs 6 crore for campaigning during the 2010 assembly polls.
