: Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, subsidiary of Germany-based Daimler AG on Tuesday said it reached a milestone of producing more than 25,000 vehicles for the overseas market.
From the company's 440-acre facility situated at Oragadam about 45kms from here, a Fuso FJ1823 R was shipped to Saudi Arabia recently, a company statement said.
"More than 25,000 vehicles have been delivered since the start of DICV's export business in 2013", it said.
Daimler India's Chennai facility is the only location for the company to produce engines, transmissions, trucks and buses under the BharatBenz, FUSO, Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner brands.
Commenting on the milestone, DICV, Managing Director and CEO, Satyakam Arya, "the milestone of crossing 25,000 units in exports illustrates the demand and acceptance of our products in global markets."
