Dalit woman hacked to death in UP

A 35-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly hacked to death by an unidentified person in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday in Gyodi village which comes under the jurisdiction of Khanna police station, SP N Kolanchi said.

Girija was attacked while she was working in the cattle shed at the house of a former village head, he said.

The axe used in the crime was found lying near the body, the SP said, adding that a case was registered.
