"The Civil Secretariat and other offices will close in Srinagar on October 25 and reopen in Jammu on November 4," an official spokesman said.
The Darbar move is an age-old practice under which the government functions six months each in Srinagar and Jammu during summer and winter months respectively.
To ensure smooth shifting of records and employees from the summer capital to the winter capital, the spokesman said Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey reviewed arrangements at a high-level meeting here.
The Chief Secretary directed putting in place all necessary measures to ensure smooth movement of Darbar move vehicles.
The spokesman said the meeting was informed that army and para-military convoys will halt their movement (on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway) to facilitate smooth movement of Darbar vehicles.
