A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and a manhunt has been launched for her husband, who is absconding, said police.
According to the case lodged at police station, Pramila Wagh, was approached by the couple Bhagavati Satyadev Gupta (30) and his wife and Sunita for a room to stay.
The couple said they were to vacate the house which they occupied earlier and were to move into the room owned by Wagh and it was decided that they would pay an amount of Rs 10,000 as deposit and Rs 3,000 as rent per month. They wanted the room for just two months.
Upon checking the house the neighbours found the body of the lady in the house, police said.
The post-mortem report is awaited, police added.
