Delhi Government has issued a show-cause notice to the management of the Mirambika Free Progress School in connection with the shutting down of classes without permission.
Stating it to be a violation of the Delhi School Education Rules, 1973, the government said in the notice, "As regards the allegation that the school is not making efforts to increase students' enrolment and is heading for closure, the inspection team has observed that the grievances have substance."
"This is evident from student enrolment in the last three years -170 for classes nursery to X in 2014-15, 162 in 2015-16 and 119 from 2016 till date. The decrease in enrolment substantiates the allegations made by the parents," it said, asking the school to reply within three days.
The AAP government had last week recommended a CBI probe into the alleged discrepancies in shifting of Mirambika Free Progress School to a new location and the role of some education department officials in it.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had earlier this month ordered the suspension of some Directorate of Education (DoE) officials for submitting false affidavit in the high court in the school's case dating back to 2015.
A group of parents had moved court against the school management's decision to shift children out from its original 9.84-acre premises, for which recognition was given in 1988, to its present location in Aurobindo Ashram area.
