With an aim to increase efficiency and bring about transparency, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government today decided to issue certificates, including birth and death, online from April 1.
"We are trying to make certificates issued from the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) by Delhi Government online from April 1," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said while addressing a press conference here.
Sisodia said that the AAP government has already made stamp vendors licenses online from February 23, making the process easy and transparent. Earlier there was huge corruption in this department.
The government is making changes in Public Distribution System (PDS) shops license process by introducing temporary licensing facility.
"We are bringing a new policy to give a three-month temporary PDS license which will be given in a week's time. If government receives any complaint against PDS shop licensee, we then cancel their ownership. In this situation, such temporary license will then be issued by the government due to which people will not have to suffer in collecting their ration," Sisodia said.
In a major relief to the residents of the nation capital, government is also bringing online mechanism to check step by step process of ration card application and distribution.
"All the work of ration card department in district offices is now online. Even the daily work done by officers in ration card department can be checked online," Sisodia said.
Government said that that they soon will introduce a system through which, ration card applicant can directly take the print out of the card, like an e-ticket. This is a step to end corruption in making and distribution of ration cards.
"Government has also asked city's private hospitals to make the status of EWS beds online so that people don't have to face trouble in getting a bed," he said.
