Police said a woman filed a complaint with the Public Grievances Cell (PG) of south district, alleging that her son was using a fake passport.
The Mehrauli shopkeeper is the woman's son from her first marriage and she did not get along with him. She filed a complaint alleging that he made a passport using forged documents, they said.
The head constable, who is posted at the PG Cell, demanded Rs one lakh from the shopkeeper and later reduced the amount to Rs 25,000 for giving a clean shit to the shopkeeper, the police said.
The police personnel accepted the bribe money of Rs 6,000 from the complainant, said RK Jha, additional commissioner of police (Vigilance).
The head constable was arrested and the bribe money was recovered from him, the official said.
