The committee, to be chaired by Special Commissioner (Headquarters and Vigilance) Amulya Patnaik, has been entrusted with examining the issue concerning long duty hours of the officials of Delhi Police raised in a writ petition filed by a constable at the Delhi High Court, sources said.
The members of the committee are Special Commissioner (Law & Order/South) P Kamaraj, Special Commissioner (Crime) Taj Hassan, Special Commissioner (Armed Police) R S Krishnia and Deputy Commissioners R A Sanjeev (Establishment) and Shibesh Singh (Legal Cell).
"The committee will decide the stand to be taken by Delhi Police before the High Court of Delhi and comment on the points raised in the petition," the order read.
The move comes weeks after an anonymous constable wrote a letter to the police chief highlighting poor working conditions in the force and took up a range of issues including promotion, transfer and the long duty hours.
