Dubbing demonetisation as a war against corruption and blackmoney, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed people to cooperate with the government as freedom fighters, to root out these evils from the society.
"Our biggest challenge today is to make our nation free from corruption and black money. Narendra Modiji's decision is a war against such evils," Fadnavis said yesterday while addressing public meetings, canvassing for BJP candidates in the November 27 Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat polls.
"We all are the proud freedom fighters who are in the process of making nation free from corruption. Just co-operate for 50 days & 50 years of prosperity is ours!," he said.
Addressing public rallies at Chikhli, Khamgaon, Jalgaon Jamod, Nandura in Buldhana district and Anjangaon Surji and Achalpur in Amravati district, Fadnavis spoke on how people have to suffer for the basic needs like drinking water, health, etc even after 70 years of independence and how his government was working on fulfilling the needs of common man that too by maintaining quality, transparency and without any corruption.
"It is sad that people are still living in slums. PM Awas Yojna will give housing to all without any discrimination of caste, religion, gender," he said.
