A 36-year old man from Hinjili was referred to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here after his blood samples tested positive for dengue in a private laboratory on Sunday.
"The patient has been admitted to the medicine ward of the hospital," said MKCG Superintendent A K Behera.
With this, four dengue cases have been reported in the district so far. Earlier, dengue patients were detected at Tikarada in Rangeilunda block, Jagannath Prasad and Gandhi Nagar in Berhampur. The three persons got infected in Bengaluru, district Malaria Officer U S Mishra said.
The drive, which started on August 8, will end on October 17. Meanwhile, the MKCG authorities have opened a 10-bed dengue ward.
