The first two days of Karnataka winter session of legislature to be held at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha here should be reserved for debate on the Kalasa Bhanduri-Mahadayi issue, former minister and Janata Dal(S) MLC Basavraj Horatti said here today.
Speaking to reporters, he said he had sent letters to the presiding officers of both houses a fortnight ago on reserving the first two days for the issue, apart from making a similar demand in a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. But unfortunately none has communicated back.
Both BJP and Congress are playingwith the farmers and people of this region, he alleged.
It was "wrong" on the part of Goa Chief Minister to have given a "false reason" for not attending the meeting of CMs of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa convened by Maharashtra Chief Minister on the Mahadayi issue in Mumbai on October 20 while the Goa CM was found travelling in Maharashtra, he said.
He also charged that Siddaramaiah "is very adamant" and due to this tendency, he has not been able solve many issues of North Karnataka region.
Horatti demanded an immediate announcement on supportive price to onion and sugarcane for the ensuing year.
