Days after his outburst against AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran, close aide Thanga Tamilselvan Friday joined the DMK here in the presence of its chief M K Stalin.
He is the second top Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader after V Senthil Balaji to join the principal opposition party in Tamil Nadu.
AIADMK senior leader and Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar said had Tamilselvan joined the ruling party "he would have been a hero forever...now he is a one day hero, tomorrow zero."
A defiant Tamilselvan, however, hit out at him, saying he took decisions "unilaterally."
