"The Chief Minister is a disaster for Delhi. Half the population lives in slums and she says she has ensured all- round development. There has been destruction in Delhi, not development," Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said.
His sharp criticism of Dikshit came in response to comments by her yesterday that her government's development model was "much better" than the one adopted by Narendra Modi, her Gujarat counterpart. She had also accused him of spreading "hatred and division" for political gain.
Throwing 15 questions at Dikshit, he also challenged her to answer them.
"The Congress government claims it has run the government maintaining fiscal discipline. So, will it explain why the CAG concluded that Delhi suffered a revenue loss of Rs 2,700 crore in the last fiscal," questioned Goel.
Claiming that an average of 10,000 infants died each year in Delhi government hospitals, Goel asked Dikshit to explain how her government planned to achieve the target of bringing that figure down to 10 child deaths per thousand by 2015.
"If the Congress government's claim is true about developmental work in these areas in the last 15 years, then why is it that the poor living in these clusters do not have toilets?" he questioned.
The questions posed by Goel touched on issues related to the transport sector, education, healthcare and pollution.
"A study sponsored by the Union Science and Technology Ministry said Delhi was in a High Health Risk Zone and that pollution had increased by 21 per cent over the last 10 years in the city.
