Diwali festivities: 45 suffer eye injuries in Chandigarh

At least 45 people, including 22 children, suffered injuries in their eyes during bursting of crackers on Diwali in the Union Territory, officials said today.
Eight of them had lost their vision, they said adding all the injured were admitted to the Advance Eye Centre of the PGIMER here.
Eighteen had rupture of eyes and required surgery, they said.
Of the injured, 22 were children, the officials said.
