Do preservation at Amber Fort as per experts guidelines: Raje

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today directed officials to conduct preservation and restoration works at Amber Fort, keeping in view the suggestions given by the experts and members of the Amber Development and Management Authority.
Calling historical monuments and museums "symbol of honour and pride", Raje asked to conserve the historical site under the authority in a time-bound manner.

Addressing a meeting of the Governing Council of the ADMA, Raje also emphasised on distributing special booklets and other printed material having information with pictures about the historical monuments so that they feel attached to these monuments and become friends of these sites.

The chief minister said awareness should be created and people specially youth should be educated so that they do not harm and distort the original shape of these monuments.
Expressing concern on the state of tourism industry, she said it was taking a backseat in the state though it has important role in the economic development of the state.

"World-class amenities should be made available at the tourist destinations so that more and more people visit Rajasthan, and message of our rich culture and heritage reaches around the world," Raje said in a statement.
She also said Amber can be developed as a "living monument" in a manner that it becomes memorable for the visitors.

She said to prepare human resources, post-graduate courses related to museology, conservation and restoration could be started in universities and colleges.
She also said that open space available at monuments like Hawa Mahal for research scholars and museum activities.
During the meeting, experts and members of ADMA gave suggestions for the conservation and development of Amber, Nahargarh Fort, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall, Kumbhalgarh fort, Chittorgarh fort, Gagron fort at Jhalawar, Bhatner fort at Hanumangarh, Kalibanga, palaces of Bharatpur and other historical sites.
