I don't want to be chief minister and nor do I think about it, Maharashtra Women and Child Welfare Minister Pankaja Munde said Tuesday.
She was speaking at the "Rashtra Maharashtra" event organised by the BBC Marathi News Service here.
"I have said it many times. I don't aspire to be chief minister and don't even think about it," Munde said.
She also refuted allegations that she did not get along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, claiming that the latter never interfered in her work.
"I really enjoy working with him. There is no place for miscommunication between us," she said.
Queried on being dogged by controversies often, she said, "You know what happened during the (mythological) ocean churning when gods and demons were engaged in a duel to obtain amrit? It resulted in the spilling of poison. There were many takers for amrit, none for poison. In my party and the government, the poison came in my share," she said.
"But let me also tell you, I am the most preferred and sought after BJP leader to deliver speeches," she added.
In reply to another query, she said she had added the "chowkidar" tag to her Twitter profile but dropped it after being trolled, though she went on to add that trolls didn't perturb her as she spent very little time on social media platforms.
She said she supported the demand for Dhangar quota, but quickly added that this was her personal opinion.
She also brushed aside a query that she was a product of dynastic politics.
"Since people are accepting it, there is nothing wrong," she claimed.
