Drake has thanked Kanye West for headlining Wireless Festival in his place, following the controversy the latter attracted during his performances.
Drake, 27, had been scheduled to headline the London and Birmingham festival over the weekend (July 4 -6) but was forced to pull out due to illness, reported Ace Showbiz.
West performed additional sets in his place, but his long rants prompted boos from some areas of the crowds. There were also calls of "we want Drake".
Drake posted an image on Instagram of West performing at the festival in his bejewelled mask, accompanied by words of appreciation for the rapper and his cover of one of Drake's songs.
The 'Hold On, We're Going Home' singer said, "Man I appreciate Kanye playing 'Trophies' at Wireless so much."
He also took the opportunity to apologise to his fans again for not being able to attend the festival himself.
"I want to be at all the shows more than anything in the world right now. I just keep watching the video over and over.
"Slow motion for me right now but I promise all the fans an incredible experience as soon as I am back. I am so sorry once again. I love you all dearly."
He ended his message by directly addressing West, writing, "Thank you Ye for giving me that joy tonight.
