The student union polls in Delhi's top two central varsities -- Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University -- began here today amid tight security.
The voting at Delhi University began at 8.30 am and went on till 12.30 pm. The evening college students will be casting their vote from 3 pm to 7 pm, said DU Chief Election Officer Ashok Vohra.
"The elections went smoothly with no untoward incident reported. There was a minor glitches with EVM machines at Khalsa

Students are casting their vote through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in DU and its counting will take place tomorrow.
Twelve candidates each for the posts of president and vice president, 17 for the post of secretary, and 10 for joint secretary are in the fray for the four major posts in DUSU.
National Students' Union of India (NSUI), Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and All India Students Association (AISA) are among the student outfits running in the elections.
Meanwhile in JNU, polling began at 9.30 am and will go on till 6 pm.
"Since the polling in JNU is being conducted with ballot papers, the results will be declared on Monday after the counting of votes, which will begin in the evening," campaign coordinator for AISA, Piyush Raj said.
There are eight candidates fighting for the post of president, five for vice-president, six for general secretary and three for joint secretary in JNUSU.
