UAE's populous city Dubai has topped the list of most preferred overseas destination for Indian travellers in first half of 2014 in Hotels.Com's Hotel Price Index (HPI) survey.
According to the recent survey, Dubai has topped the chart moving ahead of Bangkok, which ranked number one consecutively for two years being the preferred overseas destination in the first half of the year 2012 and 2013.
Other South East Asian countries that saw maximum visitors were Singapore, Hong Kong and Pattaya, the survey said.
London (UK), New York (US) continued to retain fourth and fifth spot, respectively.
While Paris, which ranked the 10th position last year has moved upward to the eighth spot, followed by Las Vegas and Kuala Lumpur at 9th and 10th position, respectively.
The foreign tourists, on the other hand, listed Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Jaipur at top seven favourite spots, the survey revealed.
West Bengal's capital Kolkata, which is locally regarded as the intellectual and cultural capital of the nation was the new entrant at eighth spot, it showed.
Agra, which was at ninth position in the first half of 2013, did not make it to the top 10 destinations for travellers from overseas this time, the report by the leading on-line accommodation booking website Hotels.Com added.
