After losing their star allrounder Jean-Paul Duminy, an injury-hit Cape Cobras take on Hobart Hurricanes in an Oppo Champions League T20 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium, here tomorrow.
Cobras were dealt a severe blow yesterday after Duminy was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury, which gives an advantage to their opponents from New Zealand.
The Hurricanes boast of a decent line-up comprising the likes of Ben Dunk, Aiden Blizzard and seasoned Shoaib Malik of Pakistan in the batting department and bowlers like Doug Bollinger and Ben Hilfenhaus.
However, both the teams have lost their respective Group B matches. Kings XI Punjab thrashed Hurricanes by five wickets (with 14 balls remaining) while Northern Knights defeated the Cobras in Raipur yesterday.
In the absence of the seasoned Duminy for the Cobras, the onus falls on Hashim Amla and others to inspire the team.
The threat of rain though looms large over the match as occasional showers or drizzle is being experienced in the Telangana capital.
Squads:
Cape Cobras:
Hashim Amla, Justin Kemp, Rory Kleinveldt, Charl Langeveldt, Richard Levi, Aviwe Magijima, Justin Ontong (c), Robin Peterson, Vernon Philander, Dane Piedt, Zakhele Qwabe, Omphile Ramela, Stiaan Van Zyl, Dane Vilas (wk), Sybrand Engelbrecht.
Hobart Hurricanes:
Tim Paine (c and wk), Jonathan Wells, Evan Gulbis, Xavier Doherty, Ben Hilfenhaus, Dominic Michael, Sam Rainbird, Travis Birt, Doug Bollinger, Aiden Blizzard, Cameron Boyce, Joe Mennie, Ben Laughlin, Ben Dunk, Shoaib Malik.
