Two persons, allegedly involved in breaking into shops and godowns and stealing valuables in different locations in the city, were arrested today.
Based on complaints by about 10 shop owners in Variety Hall Road, Raja Street and Big Bazaar Street, a special police team kept vigil in the area and nabbed one Shek Ahmad, operating a three-wheeler tempo last night, police said.
Interrogation revealed that Ahmed had developed friendship with one Pandurangan of Palakkad, when both were in a prison in Kerala and planned robberies after being released.
On the directive of police, Ahmed today called Pandurangan to come down to the city and on his arrival, he landed into police custody.
