The vice president of a renowned educational society in Chhattisgarh, missing since last month, was found to have been murdered in Durg district, police said today.
Two of the accused have been arrested.
The decomposed body of Abhishek Mishra (35), vice president of Shri Gangajali Education Society, Bhilai, was exhumed today, Durg Superintendent of Police Mayank Shrivastav said.
Abhishek's father I P Mishra is president of Shri Gangajali Education Society which runs around a dozen colleges offering courses in engineering, pharmacy, nursing, management, etc.
"Vikas Jain (32), his wife Kimsi (30) who is a former employee of Shankara College run by the Society and her uncle Ajit Jain (45) allegedly planned and executed the murder," the SP said.
"While Vikas and Ajit have been arrested, a police team has been sent to Delhi to arrest the woman," the SP added.
"As per the preliminary investigation, the victim had allegedly made indecent advances towards the woman accused which led to the murder," he said.
On November 9, Kimsi called Abhishek to her Chouhan Town house in Bhilai where Vikas and Ajit were waiting for him.
They beat Abhishek with a heavy rod, and buried the body on the premises of Ajit's rented house at Smriti Nagar.
To mislead the police, the accused left Abhishek's car on VIP Road in Raipur and made a ransom call to his parents, the SP said.
Police had formed 35 teams to trace Abhishek. Vikas was held based on the call records and he confessed to the crime during the interrogation, said the SP.
Although the body has been identified, a DNA sample has been sent for examination. Further probe is on.
