Eight school children were injured when a bouncy, inflatable play area at an amusement park suddenly deflated in south-east Delhi's Kalindi Kunj area today.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 2.15 PM today when around 700 students of National Victor Public School, Shahdara and their teachers had come to 'Delhi Rides', an amusement park in Kalindi Kunj.
"The incident happened when a large number of children, much more than the capacity of the Micky Mouse-shaped bouncy climbed on it. As it suddenly deflated, kids fell on the ground. Eight children were injured in the incident," said a police official.
Five of them suffered minor injuries while one suffered a fracture in his leg. One child lost his tooth and another's shoulder was dislocated. The children were all rushed to a nearby hospital.
A case will be filed at Jamia Nagar police station against those responsible in the case after medical reports of the injured are received, police said.
