Madhya Pradesh has received eight per cent more rainfall than the average so far this season, the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
The state received around 623 mm rainfall (average of rainfall across all the districts) from June 1 to August 13 against the normal 577 mm during this period, the IMD said.
The state has thus received eight per cent excess rain than the average so far, said U M Sarwate, a meteorologist with the IMD Bhopal.
Rainfall of around 950 mm is considered normal for the state from June 1 to September 30.
Mandsaur district has received the highest rainfall this season at 88 per cent more than the average.
Sidhi district received the lowest at 46 per cent less than the average.
In the 24 hours ending 8.30 am on Tuesday, Satna district received the highest 42 mm rain. Betul was the driest district during this period with only 0.4 mm rain.
Rains were recorded in all the divisions of the state except Sagar, Jabalpur, Shahdol and Rewa.
The IMD report on Tuesday warned of medium-to-heavy rain during next 24 hours at some places in the districts of Sagar, Damoh, Tikamgarh, Panna, Chhatarpur, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Datia, Guna, Ashoknagar, Sheopurkala, Morena, Umaria, Anuppur among other parts of central Madhya Pradesh.
