Eighteen employees injured in furnace mishap

Eighteen employees, including half a dozen officers of a wire manufacturing major, suffered injuries as the molten metal fell on the floor in a plant at Gamariah, about 20 kms from here, in Seraikela-Kharswan district today.
The mishap at Usha Martin plant occurred during the shifting of molten metal from blast furnace to a laddle causing injury to 18, Superintendent of Police Indrajeet Mahatha told PTI.
Of the injured, who also comprised some officials, three are in critical condition.
The critically injured have been admitted to Tata Main Hospital here.
