Elderly couple found dead in their house

The bodies of a 55-year-old man and his wife were found under mysterious circumstances at their house in southeast Delhi's Zakir Nagar this morning, the police said.

Shamim Ahmed and his wife Taslim Bano (50) had gone to sleep in their room on the first floor of their house yesterday around 11 pm. Their son had returned around 2.30 am but they did not open the door, they said.

He came back this morning, but his parents still did not respond. On failing to get a response from his father even after repeated calls, he called his uncle and broke open the door and found his parents dead, the police said.

A woman relative had accused Shamim Ahmed of rape and a case is registered against him in the matter, they said.

No external injuries were found on the bodies. Post-mortem examination will help in ascertaining the cause of their death, a police official said.
