60-year-old businessman Rajendra Agrawal and his wife Geeta, 55, were found dead in one of the rooms of their house. A case of theft and murder is being suspected, they said.
Bodies were recovered from dining hall of the house with severe head injuries. Assailants were likely to have broken into the house late Monday night and attacked the duo who were living alone on the ground floor, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kota, Rajan Dushyant said.
Cupboards in the rooms were found unlocked and articles scattered on the floor, Dushyant said.
A blood-stained wooden beam, which is likely to have been used for hitting the couple, was also recovered from a nearby vacant plot, he said.
No arrest has been made so far and investigations are still on.
The victims' only son, Brajesh Agrawal, 24, lives in Gurgaon and the bodies will be sent for autopsy today after he arrives here, Dushyant added.
