Elderly killed by son over land dispute

Gurcharan Singh, an ex-serviceman, was allegedly murdered by Manjinder Singh (40) with a sharp edged weapon when his parents objected to the sale of two and half acres of agriculture land by him without their prior permission, police said.

He then attempted suicide, but was saved by some neighbours.

Singh was rushed to Civil Hospital from where he was shifted to Ludhiana in a serious condition, they said, adding that a case has been registered against him.
