The house in Detroit where Eminem grew up has been damaged in a fire.
The abandoned house, which appears on the cover of rapper's new album 'Marshall Mathers LP 2' as well as 'Marshall Mathers LP' released in 2000, was damaged after a fire erupted there on Thursday, reported E! News quoting the Detroit Free Press.
The Detroit Fire Department responded to the fire in the 19900 block of Dresden Street near East State Fair, just south of the notorious Eight Mile, at 6:20 pm Thursday, Senior Chief Jack Wiley said.
The fire was seen coming out of a window on the second floor of the two-story bungalow. It was contained and put out, but not before it destroyed the ceiling between the first and second floor.
According to public records, Eminem's mother Deborah Mathers bought the house in 1987 for USD 19,900. The property changed many hands after that.
