A team of anti-corruption bureau yesterday arrested the two while they were accepting Rs 20,000 bribe from contractor Mukesh Bairath, they said.
Junior Engineer Ramlal Meena, who was earlier posted at Panchayat Samiti Abu Road, had demanded the bribe from the contractor for clearing his pending bills of Rs 4.75 lakh.
"Ramlal was had been transferred to Ahor Panchayat Samiti in Jalore district in December 2010 but he did not join and continued to stay in Abu road," IG ACB DC Jain said.
Coincidently, his daughter Priyanka was appointed on the same post in Abu road office in January 2011 and both were demanding the bribe from the contractor.
After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and both the engineer father and daughter were caught while taking the bribe amount, he said. PTI SDA
