Bhuvneshwar and Rohit, both engineering students, had differences and a clash occurred outside the premises of the college at Petbasheerabad here yesterday, they said.
Bhuvneshwar and his friend Vaibhav, who tried to intervene in the incident, suffered injuries when Rohit allegedly attacked with a 'thermocol knife' (used for cutting papers and other such purposes), they said.
The injured received medical treatment and their condition was out of danger, they said.
"A case of attempt to murder has been booked against the accused and others," they said, adding that further investigation into the matter.
