Sanjeev Sood, general secretary, PSEB Engineers' Association today said here that the association would oppose the move strongly.
He pointed out that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had verbally assured in 2010 during discussions on unbundling, that there would be no further unbundling and privatisation of power companies.
As per the transfer scheme notified by Punjab government, power utility Punjab State Power Corporation would engage in the business of distribution, generation and trading.
A tripartite agreement was also signed between Punjab, successor companies of PSEB and PSEB Engineers' Association in this regard.
Officials of PSPCL are currently performing the job of procuring power from various sources and making banking arrangement for sale and purchase of power, he said.
