Essel Group keen on developing integrated resort cities in AP

Diversified group Essel today said it is planning to develop integrated resort cities in Andhra Pradesh and will soon conduct a feasibility study in this regard.
Amit Goenka, one of the promoters of Essel Group, CEO of Pan India Network Ltd and other executives of the group, met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and updated the progress of the company's work in supporting the state in developing smart cities.
"The group is exploring the concept of integrated resort city. Soon, a feasibility study will be conducted in this regard," an official government release quoted Goenka as saying.
"Andhra Pradesh has some of the best places. Explore the locations in the state and come up with a report," Naidu told them, the release said.

The Chief Minister was informed that the integrated resort city has a great international market.
"In Singapore, integrated resort cities have generated business worth USD 10 billion. This has created 22,000 direct and 40,000 indirect jobs," Goenka apprised Naidu.

Replying in the affirmative, the Chief Minister asked for exploring the concept, keeping culture and needs in mind.
The group is currently working on developing Tirupati as a smart city.
During the meeting, Goenka told the Chief Minster that they are working on a waste-to-energy plant in Jamshedpur.
Responding to this, Naidu explained to them that he is the Convener of the Swacch Bharat sub-group of Chief Ministers and will be submitting recommendations to the Centre.

"You can give us suggestions on the best technologies in waste management. We are looking at waste-to-energy technologies, composting, construction of sanitary household/ community latrines and debris management," Naidu told them.
The CM also welcomed Essel Group to participate in the bidding process of waste-to-energy plants that will be set up in the state.
