Ethiopia evinces interest in policing in Haryana

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia today evinced keen interest in mutual exchange of best practices being adopted by the Haryana police force.
The Embassy of Ethiopia's first secretary Zenebe along with Commissioner General of the Federal Police of Ethiopia, Haneta G M called on Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) B S Sandhu here to discuss issues related to structural and operational organisation of the state Police.
A experience-sharing session for the Haryana Police and the police forces in Ethiopia was held on the occasion, an official spokesman said here.
"The discussion was focused on training of police forces, law and order situation, and the crime scenario, particularly heinous crimes and human trafficking," he said.
The Ethiopian delegation was briefed about the procedure adopted for private security agencies in Haryana, the spokesman said.
Expressing appreciation for the efforts being made by the Haryana Police, Haneta requested the DGP to send a delegation of officers to Ethiopia for exchange of best practices between the police forces, he said.
The DGP also presented a memento to Haneta on behalf of the Haryana Police, the spokesman said.
