The court convicted Arun Khanvilkar and his two associates -- Chetan Desai and Sanjay Kakkar -- for taking money from Manoj Singh in return for not booking him in a fake case.
It also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Khanvilkar and Rs 50,000 on Kakkar and Desaid and jailed them for 18 months.
According to the prosecution, Khanvilkar had raided a club in December, 2009, and had picked up Singh and taken him to an ATS unit.
Singh paid Rs 5 lakh and later filed a case with ACB. On February 4, 2010, Desai was arrested while accepting money from Singh on behalf of Khanvilkar.
On the basis of Desai's interrogation, Khanvilkar and Kakkar were arrested the next day.
During the trial, public prosecutor Sheela Jamdhar examined seven witnesses to prove the case.
