The Ganjam district court had yesterday annulled the election of Madhavi as a corporator of the civic body while disposing of an election petition filed by another former mayor Siba Shankar Das, he said.
Consequently, Madhavi lost her mayoral post as she was no more a member of the civic body council, the advocate said.
Apart from challenging the election of Madhavi on the ground of submitting a wrong affidavit pertaining to the name of her spouse, Das in his petition also alleged that she misused the official position to grab a piece of prime land in a posh locality of Berhampur town.
